Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The Innovation Hub within the CVD is the place where research, education, and entrepreneurship converge around the themes of safety and digitalization. This is done with the aim of ensuring that knowledge and insights from this collaboration have an impact on professional practice within existing and new businesses, as well as (public) organizations. The Hub strives to:
- Be a knowledge-sharing engine around safety and digitalization in an entrepreneurial ecosystem within and beyond the region.
- Bring knowledge from research and education into the region through entrepreneurship and enterprising initiatives.
- Develop a learning community in collaboration with colleagues and affiliated CVD partners through ongoing partnerships with vocational training programs and economic partners.
In practice, this means that we act as a bridge between the (public) business sector and education: we leverage the expertise of students and colleagues from our affiliated knowledge institutions to mutually support each other and drive innovation.
Educational Assignments
The HUB identifies challenges within organizations and brings them in as educational assignments. After the summer, various groups of diverse students will start working on (interdisciplinary) issues in the field of (physical) safety and digitalization. The potentially interesting and relevant outcomes of these issues can be transformed into business cases by the students with coaching from the HUB, further developing their challenges into a professional product or service.
Are you or do you know an organization with an interesting challenge where expertise from our knowledge institutions could be beneficial? Contact Chiel de Nijs at c.denijs@saxion.nl.
Cybercheck Scan
In the coming period, the HUB will offer the Cybercheck Scan for SMEs, providing organizations with insights into improvement possibilities in the field of cybersecurity.
Do you want to understand how cyber-secure your company is, or do you want more information about the scan? Find more information here
Entrepreneurship and Enterprise
The HUB identifies interesting and relevant outcomes of issues from SMEs and examines whether they can be converted into business cases. Additionally, we coach students who are entrepreneurs in the field of Safety & Digitalization, such as Wietse Hendriks from GRA Security. Wietse studied IVK/SEC at Saxion and graduated through the Saxion Center for Entrepreneurship, starting his own business. Looking for training in information security and risk management? Wietse is happy to help.
If you don't have entrepreneurial ambitions but want to learn more about entrepreneurial skills within your work, the HUB facilitates intrapreneurship sessions for colleagues and students. More information can be requested from Lynn Spendel at l.s.spendel@saxion.nl.
Knowledge Sessions and Events
The HUB collaborates with other partners on knowledge sessions and events to disseminate knowledge and get to know each other better.
Various events are coming up soon, including a networking event about ChatGPT, the Day of the Entrepreneur, a hackathon with HBO ICT, and various lunch lectures accessible to everyone. Questions or ideas about our knowledge sessions and events? Contact Elleke Lieverdink at e.r.lieverdink@saxion.nl.
