Working towards a secure digital society requires smart and effective connections between more fundamental innovations that are firmly based on science and the urgency of daily practice. Companies and public institutions experience firsthand the stakes involved when their data is stolen or their business processes are sabotaged. The CVD builds bridges between practice and science and is therefore right in the middle of the field. We create a knowledge and innovation platform where entrepreneurs, researchers, and educators come together.
Thriving Ecosystem
The Apeldoorn region thus provides the perfect breeding ground for innovation in the fields of security and digitization. Other parties in East Netherlands also recognize this: both the Gelderland and Overijssel provinces support the CVD, as well as OostNL, and there is active collaboration with economic boards, VNO-NCW Midden-Nederland, various departments of MKB-Nederland, the Fraud Helpdesk, and the Platform for Safe Entrepreneurship in East Netherlands.
In the coming years, we will continue to build a thriving ecosystem where we work together on new ideas and solutions. Together with companies, we identify the questions that matter. Through various forms of research, we can learn and innovate. This knowledge finds a place in the education of professionals in the public and private sectors.
Knowledge and Innovation Center in the National Ecosystem
As a network organization of East Netherlands partners and a physical knowledge center in Apeldoorn, the CVD signed a covenant with HSD (Security Delta) in June 2023, supported by a covenant between the cities of Apeldoorn and The Hague. Together, CVD and HSD, along with dcypher and the Top Sector ICT and involved ministries (especially JenV, EZK, BZK, Defense, and OcenW), will develop a portfolio of projects to strengthen the national innovation ecosystem in the field of security and digitization. The central theme is the development of human capital: large-scale programs to cultivate more talent.
